You never know. The same thing happened with the fat Nano rumor:
True! People can spectulate all they like, but no one knows what Apple are planning! The "daft" Nano rocks! And so will this MacBook Air if it comes out, Apple NEVER fails to amaze! :D

Think Secret say no Merom in the Mini so you guys believe it?
It makes little sense to continue with the Yonah.
I am suspect of this rumour.

Its also a weird notion that sexual orientation is a black and white issue. People gay or straight have sex with others contrary to their orientation all the time.
Absolutely. Although I've met many dozens of gay men in my life who, no matter what you plied them with, couldn't and wouldn't have sex with a woman. Can't say the same about a sizeable proportion of allegedly straight men.
I was going to reply to all your posts in the thread but then I remembered, you're the guy whose father is dating the owner of AT&T.
Busted. The IT company owner who happens to serve in the military at the same time. Busy life.

and guess which company has been more profitable recently? which company is debt free? (hint: it's not gateway) and which company had to expand beyond just selling cheap PCs to continue its operation? (another hint: it's not apple.)
Now that has to be the most double standard quote that I have ever read !!!
Apple had to expand beyond its computers to be profitable....If not for the Ipod - Apple wouldnt be making money.
Steve get Apple into gear man ! Drop prices - Take on the market...With good marketing , Apple will not cheapen..

i agree. i would never buy a computer that didn't have a dvd burner....and i'd never advise someone else to either
Remind me to never ask you for computer advice.
The parents bought a top of the line g4 iMac back when superdrives were 2x.
They still haven't used the superdrive to burn a dvd.

Tuesday is rapidly approaching. However, for some of us, the time and space continum is slightly different than the rest. Tuesday will come and some of us will sit in front of our computers waiting in anticipation for that Apple store to go down and "be right back". We will feel like little children waiting in line for Disneyland, waiting to cross that magical gate.
What?!
:)
Just don't stay up all night waiting. (I want to be the first person to order the damned thing).

According to Bob Cringley:
http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/2006/pulpit_20060922_000979.html
"Now what about that USB port on the back of each iTV box? Giving his tour of the gizmo last week, Jobs rushed right past the USB port. What could that port be for? It's not for a USB hard drive, that's for sure, because the key brain in this system is back in your Mac or PC and its very large hard drive. Nor will Apple (immediately) enable the iTV to act as a digital video recorder, because that might step on TV network toes before Apple is ready to do so. The USB port is clearly intended for an Apple iSight camera, a webcam to go with your HDTV."

Can anyone comment on under the hood performance improvements? CPU and RAM usage at idle?
Preview 1 raped my Air
I get 5% CPU usage on idle and 880MB ram usage on fresh boot.

The NASCAR and F1 cars are not consumer, road-driven vehicles. This is like comparing a Mac Pro to the giant supercomputers that run NASA. Keep in mind, there are varying degrees of professionality (I may have made that word up).
I think one could make the same comaprison with the M3 and the M3 GT2. The former is a high-ish end consumer product, much like the MBP and the latter is a professional product for three times the money.
The NASA supercomputer/F1 comparison is too extreme.

DVC-PRO is a Panasonic created format.

new iPod that can be used to control & maybe mirror what's shown on the new iTV within range, and it uses BT headphones to avoid the problem of plug & unplug 3.5 jack all the time. All changed from a single dock...

If iTV has some PVR functions in it, it is going to be tough to compete with. Very exciting

Andy Neff also writes "Apple noted that it has a number of products currently in development that are likely to be introduced over several years."
I'm glad that he confirmed this. Otherwise Macworld in January would be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Mr. Jobs finished his keynote with the startling admission that there is nothing left: "That's all folks! We've got nothing else in development. See you in 2010."

Great to see all the core technologies they've been talking about at WWDCs and putting into OS X for the past 4 or so years being leveraged here.
GCD, GPU based color correction, resolution independence, etc. This is a genuinely modern app.
I know Adobe hasn't got one that's really modern/
